We are a two person team of Harm Reduction advocates dedicated to combating overdose death in our community. As dedicated partners,FHRI promotes the empowerment of drug users, their allies, and community support as the primary agents in reducing drug related harms and actively engages with the community by peer to peer distribution of naloxone and other supplies at no cost to anyone in need.
In 2016, FHRI was just a solo advocate distributing narcan out of a car. With the help of Rebel Recovery in South Florida, Narcan became accessible through shipment to Tallahassee along with encouragement and advice. Six years later, FHRI has expanded to assisting more people and providing more supplies and educational materials, as well as providing Overdose Prevention training.
We at FHRI have access to a pharmacy program through which narcan kits are ordered and provided to us. We have a physician signed Standing Order for the narcan. When ordering please specify the number of kits you would like to receive. Each kit has two doses.
FHRI seeks to bring services and supplies to all communities by providing outreach to various areas in Leon county and surrounding counties
We are eager to host trainings in the community on topics such as how to prevent an overdose, how to properly respond to an overdose including how to administer narcan, information on wound care related to IV drug use, safe injection practices, and how to use fentanyl test strips.
We are so grateful for the support and contributions from our amazing community. If you are able, continue to help us reach our goal to expand our services, obtain our 501c3 Nonprofit status, provide more supplies and host more frequent and innovative trainings in the desperate effort to end fentanyl overdose deaths.
Thank you,
FHRI
